PRESS RELEASE

WOMA Australia announces partnership with MIRETTI at APPEA 2017 in Perth

WHILE many oilfield service and equipment suppliers have decided to put their foot on the brakes when it comes to growth plans, WOMA (Australia) Pty Ltd has shown great faith in industry and its own business by undergoing a major expansion.

The company has moved its headquarters to a new, state-of-the-art facility in the industrial hub of Henderson to the south of Perth, Western Australia that will more than double the size of its previous headquarters and allow it to expand its business offering in a number of areas.

Oil & Gas AustralAsia recently caught up with WOMA Australia managing director Ian Blevin to discuss what was behind the move and the many advantages the new facilities will bring.

“Over the last 10 years we have specialised in the design, production and manufacturing of specific solutions for industry. By drawing upon global expertise and applying consultative local ingenuity, we have developed solid and reliable systems for industry with a specific expertise in robotics and hazardous (Ex) zone solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry, technologies for mining, municipal services maintenance and in the shipping and marine sector.

Our investment in the engineering team and this new facility enables us to consolidate to one location thereby facilitating synergies between sales, administration, spare parts, accessories and stores, along with our engineering, production, manufacturing and rental resources - all within the same facility” said Ian.

“Miretti Group S.r.l. and WOMA (Australia) Pty Ltd wish to immediately notify industry of our appointment of WOMA as the official OEM and Distributor of Miretti Explosion Protection Systems. As Managing director of Miretti Group, I am pleased to announce that effective l5th May 2017 WOMA (Australia) Pty Ltd have been appointed as the Miretti distributor for the sales and service of Miretti explosion proof systems and material handling and industrial vehicle conversions for the Australian and New Zealand and African markets” said Angelo Miretti, Miretti S.r.l. Managing Director.

“This strategic partnership facilitates the intent for us to offer industrial conversions in both the Perth and Sydney works with certification under the Miretti QA system and the additional supply route for conversions in Miretti Italy, USA and China” offered Matteo Stefanini, Miretti Global Sales & Marketing Director.

WOMA are a customer focused organization, ISO 900l certified and with over 30 years' experience in the oil, gas, mining, marine and environmental service industries. They have many years' experience in the supply and service of explosion proof diesel engine and electrical equipment according to ATEX, ANZex, IECex, UL/FM standards. They recently relocated their Perth HQ to the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, WA and subsequently invested in new R&D, manufacturing, test and training facilities. They offer their customers a complete service across the Australasian markets including through their workshop and service support facilities based in Smeaton Grange, Sydney, New South Wales.

“WOMA (Australia) will be working within the direct supervision of the Miretti Group ISO and ATEX (IECEx) quality systems and will have the capability of performing local explosion proof conversions and providing service for the full range of Miretti products. The appointment of WOMA (Australia) supports the Miretti business plan for ensuring that the very latest Miretti technology is made available to all customers. It also supports the need for improving the quality of local manufacturing and services in Australia to the same level of quality Miretti group supplies globally to OEMs via Miretti manufacturing centers in Europe, USA and China” said Mr Stefanini.

WOMA (Australia) and Miretti group are committed to meeting the Ex conversion and after sales service needs of the full range of clients in the wide range of applicable industries, from mining, petro-chemical and oil & gas, to special vehicles and materials handling, and from civil construction and tunneling through to the defence, maritime and shipping industries.

In addition to their resident Mechanical and Electrical Engineering capabilities, over the coming months, WOMA engineers and technicians will be trained and certified by Miretti and initial Australian forklift truck, engine and oilfield equipment conversions will be undertaken with Miretti supervision. Importantly, Global Miretti Partners are still able to commission and execute conversions through Miretti factories in Milan, New Jersey and Shanghai, confident in the knowledge that WOMA (Australia) can provide commissioning and warranty support services across the territories.

The diversification has made the WOMA business more ‘solution’ oriented, with the facility designed to allow the provision of all of those services in a smoother, safer and more efficient manner.

For example, the WOMA engineers are design and manufacture engineers so that means that they need to have a really close relationship with the workshop manufacturing team. So WOMA have created a new design innovation engineering area in this facility which has a good view over the workshop and allows the engineers to have easy access to that workshop area.

In addition to that WOMA have developed a specialised training centre that has two dedicated training rooms and a catering kitchenette devoted to the participants – effectively separating them from the day to day cut and thrust of operational activities whilst providing specialised training solutions in hazardous area operations and industrial and environmental services.

WOMA train internally as part of staff development and externally for their clients. Training has now become an integral part of the offering. The Company has three nationally accredited, Cert 4 TAE trainers and are currently in process of registering their own Registered Training Organisation under the name if iCert, the Industrial Centre for Environmental & Resource Training.

WOMA is producing significant offerings for oil and gas including Zone rated vacuum units, high pressure jet units, hydraulic power packs and compressors for fabric maintenance, intervention, injection, cold cutting and the extraction and encapsulation of hydrocarbons, catalyst and other difficult to handle products. Their relationship with and understanding of explosion proof technologies ensures that together with Miretti S.r.l they can truly value-add the activities of Australian industry by monopolising upon the provision of global expertise and local ingenuity.

Best Regards
